Filmed at night from rooftops in Tel Aviv, this documentary examines the civilian casualties of Israeli military operations in Gaza and the systems behind the targeted assassinations of Palestinians. Van de Israëlische filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, two of the four directors behind the Oscar-winning documentary 'No Other Land', come 'NAZA': an incisive investigation into the war in Gaza and the systems behind the large-scale death of Palestinian civilians. The title refers to a military acronym used by Israeli intelligence services to designate the expected number of civilian casualties of an airstrike. From their position as Israelis, the filmmakers ask a fundamental and uncomfortable question: how can a society allow the dehumanization of another group of people, and what mechanisms make that possible? The film builds upon journalistic research by The Guardian, +972 Magazine, and Local Call from the period 2023–2025. After 'No Other Land', Abraham and Szor now explicitly turn their gaze to their own Israeli society. 'NAZA' is a confrontational film about war and dehumanization, but above all about responsibility and the need to break the silence. 'NAZA' had its world premiere at the Filmfestival van Venetië and won the Speciale Juryprijs there. Direction: Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor / Verenigd Koninkrijk, US, Israel 2026 / Hebrew, English spoken, NL/FR subtitled / Duration: 1h20min Press "It's almost like playing a video game," says an anonymous IDF intelligence agent, as he coolly and businesslike explains how he tracks, selects, and helps attack Palestinian targets from his control room. It is one of many sentences that lodge themselves like a splinter in your head, and make NAZA – awarded the Speciale Juryprijs in Venice a few weeks ago – a precision strike against human apathy." ★★★★ - Knack Focus "The eighty minutes that Israel fears so much can now also be seen here: in the docu ‘Naza’, Israeli soldiers coolly recount how they rampaged in Gaza." ★★★★★ - De Standaard "In Venetië filmmakers Rachel Szor and Yuval Abraham were treated to 25 minutes of applause, in their homeland Israel they receive death threats. That reaction proves that their documentary NAZA, featuring interviews with Israeli soldiers about the horror in Gaza, is perhaps the most important film of the year." - De Morgen "A unique and unsettling documentary." ★★★★ - Humo
