In SHARK, questions about life and theater arise during a volleyball match on stage. In this game, the Brazilian actor and director Frederico Araujo transforms his fears and challenges into poetry. SHARK explores the boundaries between theater, performance, and sport – and the boundaries within society. For an hour, the rhythm of the volleyball match brings forth questions about identity and xenophobia. In sharp and ironically critical words, the performance takes a look at cultural assimilation and the psychological work that the impossible norms of a new society demand of immigrants.
