The little story that is going to freak you out (so much that it is scary)
Wed, 4 Nov 2026
Théâtre Royal de Namur, Namur
At the heart of this biting fable lies an unloved child, a monstrous stepmother, an overwhelmed father, and an ambiguous stepsister. Decapitations, metamorphoses, and revenge make up this dark yet resolutely theatrical performance. Because if the subject matter is cruel, the acting is equally so. Laughter arises where it is least expected, releasing the tension in a single surge.
The original tale, one of the darkest in the repertoire, becomes living material in the hands of a caustic, fragile, and exuberant clown. Typhus does not illustrate the story; he digests it. He swallows it, chews it, struggles with it until it takes possession of him. On stage, the narrative overflows, derails, and embodies itself in a theatre of objects as inventive as it is disturbing. A butcher's block is transformed into a puppet theatre, neon lights cool the atmosphere, and plastic tarp curtains open onto a crucified teddy bear.
