Lanterns Christmas Walk 2026

Illuminating the City Park together: Magische Lampionwandeling! When the wintry December days are at their shortest, we seek out warmth together. On December 19, we transform the evening into an atmospheric ribbon of light. Pasar Turnhout cordially invites you to a magical lantern walk through the beautiful Stadspark van Turnhout. This year we are not just walking: we are walking for a good cause! The proceeds of this atmospheric evening go entirely to Mekanders, GELIJKVLOER and VRIJETIJD Turnhout. This wonderful organization offers warm care and support to people with an intellectual disability. In this way, we help contribute to a warm home and enjoyable activities for their clients. Mekanders Turnhout is a care organization that supports children, young people, and adults with a disability. The organization offers various forms of guidance, with the aim of letting people participate in society as fully as possible. We gather at the little station of the Stoomgroep Turnhout (located in the park). There are 3 departure times: 18:00h - 18:15h - 18:30h. This atmospheric starting point is beautifully illuminated that evening. Armed with colorful lanterns, we walk together at a leisurely pace along the paved paths of the park. It promises to be a fairytale journey for young and old, full of sparkling lights, coziness, and warm chats in the fresh outdoor air. After our walk through the dark greenery, we warmly cozy up together. We close the evening in style with a steaming cup of hot chocolate, a comforting mug of soup, or an atmospheric winter drink.
