What happens when a seasoned musical couple golfs their way through life together? No, Jorik Van den Bosch (bandleader of the 60s rock ‘n’ roll band The 925, ex-Mooneye) and Muriel Boulanger (e.g., from the surreal pop band MURI) did not get married. They did something much bolder: start a band together. The genre that connects them (in real life )? Dream pop à la Cigarettes After Sex, but with a touch of summer à la Khruangbin and a solid portion of distortion à la Yo La Tengo. As bassist-singer, Muriel sets a sultry, summery tone, while Jorik steals the show with his velvet-soft riffs and crazy guitar solos. In Jonathan Callens (Sarah Ferri, Wasdaman, Kiss The Anus or A Black Cat, …) quickly found the couple the perfect drummer to weave simplicity, groove, and experiment together. Toetsenist Matthias Dewilde (Nagloed) then fully indulges on keys to envelop the whole with a warm blanket of synth sounds. During the first performances in, among others, CC Belgica and De Minardschouwburg, the power of this line-up quickly became apparent.
