NTGent & Tiago Rodrigues - No Yoghurt for the Dead

Tiago Rodrigues, artistic director of Festival d’Avignon, is inspired by a true story about his father, the Portuguese journalist Rogério Rodrigues. During his last days in the hospital, he began to write one last article. A story he could not finish. Wanneer Tiago opens his father's notebook, he finds only a few lines and scribbles, traces of a last attempt to tell. That becomes the starting point of a performance that makes room for memory, imagination, and farewell. Met Fado, poetry, and personal stories, he builds a world in which hospital beds seem to glide over an icy sea. An image that shows how vulnerable and at the same time powerful life is. This performance, selected for the Theaterfestival 2025 and declared one of the best of the year by De Standaard, is a playful and moving search for how we deal with loss.
