Brodsky Quartet

Het Brodsky Quartet is considered one of the best quartets of this time and gained great appreciation worldwide through collaborative projects with striking artists, such as Elvis Costello, Sting, Anne Sofie von Otter, Dawn Upshaw, and Björk. Since its founding in 1972, Het Brodsky Quartet has played more than 3000 concerts on the world's best stages and worked on more than 60 recordings. The quartet is a welcome guest in our chamber music series. The musical development of Ludwig van Beethoven is traditionally divided into three periods, which are often described as early, middle, and late. This classification reflects his evolution from a classical style to a very personal, innovative, and romantic approach. Brodsky Quartet presents us with the best from Beethoven's string quartet oeuvre with a work from his early, middle, and late period. These three string quartets are alternated with three different in-memoriam pieces that provide the necessary dialogue. Beethoven is in good hands with the Brodsky Quartet. 2027 is dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven. On the occasion of his 200th anniversary of death, CC Maasmechelen presents a diverse program, which is an ode to the genius of the composer.
