Hella - The Splendor of Winksele

After their successful passage here in the spring of 2025, they are very pleased to return to Herent! Hella is an a cappella quartet from Ghent, founded in 2022 by sisters Ahanna and Kalinka Verschraegen, together with Eline De Coninck and Lotte Pauwels. Four female voices blend into warm, clear harmonies, in which ancient melodies are given new life with original Dutch-language lyrics. Hella intertwines tradition and innovation, thus putting the versatility and beauty of the human voice center stage. In 2024, Hella de Flanders Folk Award won for Meest Beloftevolle Band and they were artists-in-residence at Muziekpublique Brussel. In the meantime, they have performed on numerous Flemish and international stages. Their debut album Meeremin (October 31, 2025) highlights the power and vulnerability of the female voice, inspired by women who made their voices heard throughout history.
