During this autumn course (September-December) you will learn the entire process: from manually setting the camera and loading the film to developing your own black-and-white negatives and making silver gelatin prints. We start with three theory lessons at GC Elzenhof and then go to the professional Co-Lab for practical work. Ideal for beginners and for those who want to get started with film again. PROGRAM/MON Sept 22 (Elzenhof): Introduction to analog technique, camera checks, and film loading. Sept 29 (Elzenhof): Composition and the 'analog mindset'. We hit the streets around Elzenhof to shoot the first rolls. Oct 06 (Elzenhof): Theory of chemistry & reading negatives. Preparation for the lab. Oct 13 (Co-Lab): Film developing (First time in the darkroom!). Oct 20 (Co-Lab): Open Darkroom Oct 27 (Co-Lab): Open Darkroom Nov 03: NO CLASS (Autumn break) Nov 10 (Co-Lab): Open Darkroom Night (Under supervision). Nov 17 (Co-Lab): Advanced printing techniques (Contrast & Dodging/Burning). Nov 24 (Co-Lab): Open Darkroom Night. Dec 01 (Co-Lab): Final prints & finishing. Dec 08 (Co-Lab): Portfolio review & selection for the expo.
