Spring in a madman's garden

A kid is enlisted in the army, they called him “Zero and some dust”. They had tried to hammer into his head that there is “us” and then “the others”. When he realizes that the army manufactures a highly demanded specialty: war, he doesn't want to do it. In these conditions, no question of letting himself be barracked... he has a fragile backside, he is a fervent contemplative, you see, one who counts the holes in the moon, and watches the grass grow... one who therefore moderately likes crawling in the mud. And besides, he has never had excellent relations with potatoes... So, he is going to pretend to be crazy and end up in the military psychiatric hospital... That is the whole question: can one be sane in this crazy world? And who is the crazy one in all this? When men have ants in their rifles, that a whole country agrees to remilitarize... but that no one wants to send their sons to the front anymore... Here war is a serious subject treated with elegance and intelligence.
