Together with the colleagues from Muziekclub ’t Ey, Merodefestival, and Muziekpublique, 'Nouter Club with Winter Strings brings three exceptional acoustic guitarists together on one stage. Besides their own set, they also find each other in some joint pieces. An evening for lovers of strings that do more than just being plucked. The Scotland-born and London-based Sam Grassie brings an idiosyncratic mix of Celtic trad, contemporary folk, and desert blues. With influences from, among others, Bert Jansch, Ali Farka Touré and Nick Drake, he steadily builds his reputation as a virtuoso guitarist and strong songwriter. Dylan Fowler has been an internationally appreciated guitarist and composer for more than thirty years. His music moves effortlessly between Celtic tradition, European jazz, and influences from Wales, the Balkans, and Scandinavia. The result is layered soundscapes in which stillness and adventure go hand in hand. Haroun Iqbal is a young Belgian guitarist and composer with a broad musical view, from jazz and classical music to West African traditions and Indian ragas.
