Solear

Solear combines classical music and jazz, resulting in a fresh, intimate sound in which different musical worlds come together. Their repertoire ranges from Latin American, Spanish, and Eastern European music by composers such as Manuel De Falla, Astor Piazzolla, Enrique Granados, and Dušan Bogdanović, to modern jazz and Bossa Nova. So expect Argentijnse Tango, Spanish dances, jazz standards, original work... and more! In addition, they regularly surprise the audience with their own compositions. Because they combine written pieces with improvised jazz, every performance by Solear is unique again. Their mission? Bringing classical music and jazz closer together and making it accessible to a broader audience. The band members got to know each other at the conservatory of Antwerp and have meanwhile performed at places such as De Singel, the KMSKA, the Gentse Feesten, Dinant Jazz, cc corso, cc Houthalen, and the Universiteit van Antwerpen.
