Dance in focus: film portraits by Charlotte Goesaert & Marah Haj Hussein

During this evening, two new dance portraits are central, born from an artistic meeting between makers who get to know each other through the lens.
Filmmaker Anaïs Kabore portrays choreographer and performer Charlotte Goesaert from her artistic practice and the creation of BAKENEKO, a physical performance about trauma, body memory, and what remains hidden under the skin. The result is a rhythmic, physical, and intimate film that sits close to the skin of her artistic universe and breathing.
Poet and filmmaker Lisette Ma Neza portrays dancer, actor, and maker Marah Haj Hussein from her recent creation In relation to whom? مرتاحة؟, a collaboration with Nur Garabli in which body memory, displacement, and the search for one's own movement language are central. The result is a poetic cinematic dialogue in which both artistic worlds meet and in which resilience and connection weave like a red thread through the image.
Both portraits were produced by KAAP. These film screenings are part of the December Dance festival.
After the screening, there is a short follow-up conversation with Lisette Ma Neza and Marah Haj Hussein. Dans in beeld: filmportretten van Charlotte Goesaert & Marah Haj Hussein
