But cult. This story, we all know it. This season, we suggest you rediscover it at Théâtre National with Juliette et Roméo. Some texts go beyond theater to become a passion, almost a belief. We no longer play them, we celebrate them. This is how Éline Schumacher transforms Shakespeare’s masterpiece into a joyful popular rite. It is about a mysterious brotherhood dedicated to Romeo and Juliet, a sign of an absolute love that is shared like a cult. Between scenes repeated and reinvented, live music signed by Greg Duret and a complicit audience, the show unfolds with fanfare and the acting takes the form of a party. The intentionally inverted title sets the tone: a folkloric and playful adaptation, which reactivates the myth in a resolutely contemporary form.
