Edward Une, a professor specializing in the behavior and language of the favorite rodent of families, shares with us tonight her surprising discovery: a diary, written by the very paw of a cute little pet hamster, Edward. From his condition as a captive animal and despite the grind of his mundane days, Edward expresses in his posthumous writings his philosophical, nihilistic, and disillusioned thoughts on the mysteries of life and the world around him. A mirror of our existence, his cage becomes a metaphor for modern society where routine, confinement, and the quest for meaning coexist. Taken from a short English comic by Miriam and Ezra Elia, Le Journal of Edward is a humorous and satirical work in which black humor, cynicism, and the absurd mingle. On stage, two spaces - one human-sized, the other hamster-sized - are inhabited by two exceptional actresses, Véronique Dumont and Brigitte Dedry.
