The Green Mean Machine Album Release

What started as a shared search for freedom within jazz grew into a close-knit formation with a recognizable sound: playful and dynamic, that is The Green Mean Machine. Their concerts revolve around the concept of the ‘now’: intense interaction, unexpected turns and the pleasure of four musicians who keep challenging each other and finding each other again and again in their musical sound. You might recognize the four band members from other Belgian jazz acts, but together Werend Van Den Bossche (Dishwasher_, Kin Gajo), Warre Van de Putte (Don Marsh V), Zjef Van Steenbergen (Ellias D’Hooge Trio) and Marcos Della Rocha (Laughing Bastards) bring an idiosyncratic mix of jazz, improvisation and contemporary influences. Since the release of their EP The Engine (2023), GMM has been refining a sound in which jazz tradition and a modern, free interpretation come together. GMM is an encounter between the classical training and experience of the band members and a desire to constantly push musical boundaries. The result is a sound that feels both immersive and adventurous. In the autumn of 2026, their first untitled LP will be released. On that record, just like during their live performances, spontaneity is central: a lively dialogue between four musicians who find each other blindly and constantly seek out new directions together.
