WAR VOICES with GUY VERLINDE

During this musical lecture, Guy Verlinde makes the link to today using anecdotes, poems, and war songs and discusses the challenges and threats we face as a society such as the war in Ukraine, Gaza, the refugee crisis, fake news, ... In addition, the audience gets to know important historical counter-voices such as Siegfried Sassoon, Martin Luther King & Nelson Mandela. And his protest songs and those of, among others, Bob Dylan show the power of music and poetry as a means of resistance against armed conflicts. All songs are sung in Dutch, so that everyone can follow and understand the lyrics. It is a positive performance that carries a message of connection and hope.
