Dune: Part One

Paul Atreides - a brilliant young man from the Huis van Atreides - gets visited in a dream by a mysterious woman who makes a distress call for her people on the planet Arrakis. Evil powers are fighting for the planet's precious resource, a substance that can only be mined there and is capable of enhancing human ability. Paul must travel to the most dangerous place in the universe to secure the future of his family and people. Commentaar Er has been eagerly awaiting the film adaptation of the legendary sci-fi classic Dune by Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, Arrival). Frank Herbert's book was considered by many to be unfilmable, especially after none other than David Lynch made a mess of it in 1984. Voor Villeneuve it was an ultimate boyhood dream to be allowed to film Dune. His version covers the first half of Herbert's original book.
