Voices of war

By means of anecdotes, poems and WWI war songs, Guy Verlinde makes the link to today and discusses the challenges and threats that we as a society are grappling with, such as the war in Ukraine and Gaza, the refugee crisis, fake news ... In addition, the audience is introduced to important historical dissenting voices such as Siegfried Sassoon, Martin Luther King & Nelson Mandela. And his protest songs and those of, among others, Bob Dylan show the power of music and poetry as a means of resistance against armed conflicts. All songs are sung in Dutch!
