Chile, 108 minutes
Carmen is a young woman who, during the Chilean dictatorship in 1976, is taking care of her sick father at her coastal holiday home. When an injured young revolutionary, Elias, unexpectedly ends up at her place, she becomes increasingly deeply involved in his clandestine situation. Carmen, initially withdrawn and obedient, slowly overcomes her fear and becomes aware of the political reality around her. Martelli does not tell this as a classic political thriller, but as a subtle, oppressive drama in which silence, landscape and small gestures make the repression tangible.
