What did angels know that we have forgotten? This performance seeks the answer from two visionary thinker-artists: Hildegard von Bingen and Heinrich von Meißen, alias Frauenlob. She: mystic, composer, and centuries later the heroine of the new-age movement – a spiritual phenomenon avant la lettre. He: traveling poet and minnesinger, celebrated and imitated until long after his death. Their music decodes a world in which sound is both mystical experiment and pure imagination. Hildegard's ecstatic chants and Frauenlob's refined minnesang are carried by the voices, lute, fiddle, and bagpipes of PER-SONAT: the specialist in the Middle Ages that you must have heard in this repertoire.
