Missa Concertata in Echo by Christoph Straus Music in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna around 16300

For the eighth consecutive year, the Leuven ensemble "De Completen" under the direction of Bart Schoukens brings polyphonic music from the 17th century around St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna to the Oostendse Kapucijnenkerk. This year, the Weense Componist Chistoff Straus is taking a turn. He was court composer and chapel master at the court of Keizer Ferdinand II and at the same time he was choir director at St. Stephen's Cathedral. De Missa Concertata in echo is one of the 16 masses that Christoph Straus wrote for St. Stephen's Cathedral. De Completen also perform 9- and 10-part motets by his hand. Anyone who has been able to experience the previous concerts of the Completen will certainly want to be there again.
