Grace and Jackson, a happy young couple, have everything their hearts desire. They move into a charming old house in Montana in the middle of peaceful nature. They fix up the house and are soon expecting their first child. After the birth, however, Grace crashes down from her cloud; she no longer feels happy. The idyllic surroundings seem to suffocate her more and more. Her behavior becomes increasingly erratic and volatile, and she gets frustrated. Jackson seeks closeness, but the situation quickly escalates. It is not long before Grace goes looking for happiness elsewhere. It took a while, but Lynne Ramsay delivers a treat for the film lover once again. Na We Need to Talk About Kevin and You Were Never Really Here, Die My Love is once again a true masterpiece. It is simultaneously a psychosexual thriller, a marriage drama, and a character study of a hopelessly lost woman. Jennifer Lawrence's performance hits deep inside, and that is no coincidence: she went through postpartum depression herself. Ramsay refuses to provide simple answers or an easy happy ending, making the film creep deep under your skin. She excels more than ever in her visual, almost poetic, and feverish style.
