Kensuke’s kingdom

After a shipwreck, young Michael washes up on a remote island. There he tries to survive in the wild nature. While he finds his way on the island, he discovers that he is not alone after all. Hidden among the greenery lives Kensuke, a mysterious Japanese man. At first, Kensuke keeps his distance, but gradually a special friendship grows. Together they protect their island against the dangers that lurk. Kensuke’s Kingdom is an exciting and moving animated film, based on the beloved book by Michael Morpurgo. The story is full of adventure, but also touches on themes that are still important today. The film shows how valuable care, respect, and connection are. For each other, for animals, and for the nature that surrounds us.
