Because only then can the Trojan War begin. De Portugese writer and theater maker Tiago Rodrigues radically rewrote this tragedy. Zijn Iphigenia does not passively undergo her fate but decides on it herself. Thus she becomes a powerful woman, who gives meaning to her own life instead of submitting to divine arbitrariness or warmongering men. In this way, Rodrigues constantly questions the story.
