Choose a 100% ecological Christmas tree!
The open heathlands on the Kempense heuvelrug are of vital importance for rare lichens and animal species such as the woodlark, nightjar and viviparous lizard. Due to spontaneous afforestation, however, their habitat threatens to be lost in the long run. The most beautiful pine trees are therefore offered as Christmas trees. In this way, by purchasing a natural Christmas tree, you help preserve the habitat of these vulnerable species. The big advantage of the real pine tree (not equal to a fir) is that it does not lose its needles after being cut down.
Come choose and dig out or cut down your pine tree on site yourself.
Bring your own saw and/or spade as much as possible.
