Mirja Klippel, a Finland-born artist currently living in the Danish countryside, is making her musical mark on the alternative folk scene. She connects the stark beauty of the Nordic landscape with a palpable melancholy.
She draws inspiration from Finnish folk, Americana, dreamy dream-pop, and indie, forging them into a world that is both beautiful and tragic.
Her debut Lift Your Lion introduced Klippel as a versatile songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. With her second album Slow Coming Alive, she chose a more introspective course: starting from Finnish poems from her youth, she explores universal themes carried by the intimate sounds of chamber music.
Live, Mirja Klippel is assisted by guitarist Alex Jønsson.
