Mercurial silence - David Eugene Edwards

De Amerikaanse singer-songwriter David Eugene Edwards is known for his dark folk rock and alternative country music, mainly via the projects 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand (CCHA, 2012), but just as much solo.
The Christian faith in which Edwards grew up plays a major role in his songs which are permeated with a biblical theatricality that does not have to yield to Nick Cave. Recognizable subjects like faith, love, pain, conflict, and redemption are brought in a particularly compelling way on albums like Sackcloth 'n' ashes, Consider the birds, and Hyacinth.
Live, that unique mix of country, americana, and blues rock is made that little bit more powerful by the strong stage presence of the singer and his penetrating voice: tormented, but also fragile.
This spring, the legendary 16 Horsepower tours for the first time in more than 10 years again, with, among others, two sold-out concerts in De Roma. On May 22, however, a new album by Edwards himself also appears - Mercurial silence, following Hyacinth from 2023.
In September 2012, Wovenhand played a scorching concert in CCHA, and this passage of David Eugene Edwards also promises to provide fireworks already!
