BACH and contemporaries

BACH en tijdgenoten Nele Geerincxk, vocals Katelijn Van Kerckhoven cello Emmanuel Van Kerckhoven, organ bring “Bach and contemporaries”. Nele Geerinckx – soprano Nele Geerinckx studied singing at the Lemmens Institute with Gerda Lombaerts and Dina Grossberger. She is a teacher of singing, choir, and vocal ensemble at stArt music in Turnhout. As a soprano, she worked with various ensembles, including Currende, Canamella, Capella Brugensis, and Studium Chorale, and performed as a soloist in various concertante works. Her passion lies mainly in early music, although she also feels at home in contemporary repertoire. Emmanuel Van Kerckhoven – organ Emmanuel Van Kerckhoven studied organ and church music at Codarts Rotterdam and further specialized in music history, organ building, and counterpoint. He is titular organist of the Sint-Norbertuskerk and the Sint-Carolus Borromeuskerk in Antwerp. As a concert organist, continuo player, and artistic director of The Antwerp Baroque Orchestra, he built a strong reputation, with a special affinity for the oeuvre of J.S. Bach. In addition, he is the initiator of Bach in the Stad and the Bachfestival Antwerpen. Katelijn Van Kerckhoven – cello Celliste Katelijn Van Kerckhoven studied at the Lemmens Institute and the Koninklijk Vlaams Conservatorium Antwerpen. She is active in diverse projects, from chamber music and baroque to theater and film productions. She worked together with various ensembles and artists and is artistic director of Cellopalladio. Besides her concert practice, she is strongly committed to education and creative music projects. Together with her brother Emmanuel, she regularly performs in Bach in the Stad concerts, where she plays, among other things, baroque cello and violoncello piccolo.
