THE ONLY LIVING PICKPOCKET IN NEW YORK [FILM PEARL]

The Only Living Pickpocket in New York is a stylish crime film and an affectionate, melancholic ode to a changing New York. With the iconic streets of the city as a backdrop, an atmospheric soundtrack, and an impressive cast featuring John Turturro, Giancarlo Esposito, Steve Buscemi, and Jamie Lee Curtis, Noah Segan sketches a world in which old habits and past glory are increasingly coming under pressure. Harry Lehman (John Turturro) is an old-fashioned pickpocket in an era when his trade is slowly dying out. Yet he continues to steal, to make ends meet and to care for his seriously ill wife Rosie. When a seemingly simple theft unexpectedly yields something of great value, Harry gets entangled in a dangerous web of criminals. What follows is a nerve-wracking race through the streets of New York, in which Harry must draw upon his old-fashioned craftsmanship, his network, and his instincts to get himself and his loot back. With suspense, dry humor, melancholy, and a sharp eye for the city, The Only Living Pickpocket in New York tells a story about loyalty, past glory, and the question of what remains when the world around you irretrievably changes.
