Jonas Bruyneel - Mulhacén

Fri, 20 Nov 2026 · 20:15
OC De Stekke, Moorsele
€12–14
Jonas Bruyneel takes you on his imaginary walk with Federico Garcia Lorca - Spain's greatest poet and playwright of all time - from the city center of Granada to the top of the Mulhacén, the highest mountain in Spain. In that constantly changing landscape, they talk about the longing for a home, polarization, empathy, and the role of poetry in a society that, like the red earth of Andalusia, is withering at breakneck speed. In his inner pocket, Federico keeps a revolver. Lisa Rooijackers in Poëziekrant, September 2024: "Jonas paints the local color in a virtuoso, cinematic way. Mulhacén is an honest, colorful, tangible, educational, ambiguous, at times very musical, sometimes witty, and above all compelling work". Jeroen Dera in De Standaard **** 12.10.2024: "Impressive is how Bruyneel subtly incorporates events from the life of Lorca. The text speaks of an unadulterated millennial who, unlike Lorca, does not take to the barricades, but does want to break a lance for engaged art...” acting: Jonas Bruyneel violin: Esther Coorevits guitar, clarinet: Klaas Tomme direction: Bert Dewildeman Gerealiseerd with the support of Literatuur Vlaanderen and Poëziecentrum Gent
