Noches de Vicio Cultural is a collaboration between Trefpunt vzw and El Vicio Cultural vzw, where live music, gathering, and the richness of Ibero-Latin American culture come together in the heart of Ghent. Martina Camargo is considered the most important female voice of the Colombiaanse Tambora, an age-old Afro-Colombian music tradition from the Magdalena River basin. For more than 36 years, she has been bringing this musical heritage form and moving audiences in venues all over the world: Latin America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. In 2024, she was nominated for a Latin Grammy for her album Canto y Río. In 2026, she also received the prestigious Medalla Orden de Pedro Romero for her exceptional contribution to Colombian culture. A new generation discovered her music through electronic remixes that together accumulated more than 500 million streams, but live you experience Martina the way it was meant to be: pure, powerful, and authentic. For this exclusive stop in Ghent, in the middle of her European tour, Martina travels with her full lineup of six musicians. Expect traditional tambora and currulao percussion, powerful ensemble singing, captivating call-and-response rhythms, and the irresistible energy of the Magdalena River. No backing tracks. After the concert, we will round off the evening with a tropical DJ set to continue dancing and reminiscing.
