Baloji

Baloji is a masterful Belgian rapper of Congolese origin who has already collaborated with Africa Express van Damon Albarns and many others. His previous album 137 Avenue Kaniama - named after the address in Lubumbashi where Baloji reunited with his long-lost mother - dates back to 2018. Since 2024, Baloji is completely back from being away - and how! AUGURE is the nickname of his challenging project that takes three wondrous forms. Thus, AUGURE is in the first place Baloji’s debut as a director. With it, he immediately ended up in the official selection of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, for the prize in the category ‘Un Certain Regard’. AUGURE is also a monumental album, composed of 4 EPs with a total of 36 songs, written from the point of view of the four main characters in the film. To top it all off, AUGURE was also a veritable exhibition that took place in 2024 at the prestigious MOMU (Fashion Museum) in Antwerp.
