50 years Tim - homage to the music of Wim De Craene Andrea Croonenberghs, Bert Verbeke, Wanda Joosten & Ramses De Craene
In 2024 was 50 years ago that Wim De Craene wrote his classic Tim, dedicated to his son Ramses. On that occasion, Ramses travels through Flanders to celebrate his father's heritage.
Wim De Craene wrote more than 130 songs, many of which are still timeless. His music is played daily on various radio stations, and he is considered one of the most appreciated singer-songwriters of his time.
The story behind Tim is now known. That the song still scores so high 50 years later – in 2023, for example, it reached third place in De Lage Landenlijst van Radio 1 – testifies to the power of the lyrics and the timeless quality of this musical composition.
2024 was also a special year, because Tim (Ramses) turned 50. The story that Ramses tells is about Wim in the 70s and 80s, and what his music would sound like today.
The unforgettable songs of Wim are brought by artists of today who previously participated in the tribute to Wim De Craene: Andrea Croonenberghs, Bert Verbeke and Ramses himself, led by Peter Bauwens and Wim Bartholomeus.
Together they return for a moment to the roots of the listening song and reflect on how Wim would make music today.
"Here I let you go Tim, from here on you must go, with falling and getting up."– 1974
