Roeshoofd, Traum

Siem, a young thirty-something, is at a crossroads in his life. His career as a theater director is not getting off the ground, his relationship is under pressure, and the recognition he desires from his father is not coming. For his new performance, Siem decides to record interviews with his father in the hope of finding answers to questions about a complex and painful war past. What follows is a reconstruction in which he tries to find out who he is today, and above all, who he wants to be. TRAUM is inspired by the cult graphic novel ‘Maus’ by Art Spiegelman and goes in search of what traces a beastly past leaves on the generations that come after.
