Sonico - Roviro 100, The future was today

Het Brusselse ensemble Sonico celebrates its tenth anniversary and the hundredth birthday of one of the most enigmatic figures in the history of tango music, Eduardo Rovira. On the occasion of this milestone, the group left in April 2025 on a tour through Argentina. This trip culminated in the capital of tango, Buenos Aires, with the recording of their fifth album, ROVIRA 100, in which SONICO’s reinterpretations of Rovira’s most emblematic records can be heard: Sonico (1969) and Quelo Paren (1975). With this album, SONICO also wants to return to the early years of the avant-garde in Buenos Aires, based on compositions by other big names such as Astor Piazzolla, Osvaldo Berlingieri, Omar Luppi, Alberto Caracciolo, and Omar Valente.
