The documentary 'Journey To Space', brilliantly narrated by film and television legend Sir Patrick Stewart, offers a broad overview of humanity's achievements in space, as well as our current activities and future plans.
Journey To Space places the magnificent contributions of the Space Shuttle program and its intrepid space pioneers into a historical context. The documentary uses spectacular footage from space (including unique views of the Earth and operations in space), such as the deployment and repair of the Hubble telescope. The film then shows how the shuttle launched and assembled the Internationale Ruimtestation (ISS). Together, these programs have taught us how to live, build, and conduct scientific experiments in space. The ISS remains operational in space until 2024 and the film shows how it lays the foundation for the next great leaps in space. The film ends with a fascinating and realistic scenario of how astronauts will actually travel to Mars, stay there for an extended period, and return home after a two-and-a-half-year mission.
