What's Next Media & Joyful Celebration - Musical 80 years of Italian migration

80 years ago, the first Italian miners set foot on Limburg soil. De Italiaanse community changed life in Limburg. De Vlaamse and Italian stories mingled into the beautiful history that we remember today. To celebrate those memories, the Limburg youth collective What’s Next Media brings a brand-new musical. Eleven undiscovered artists shine in a musical that is full of nostalgia: from Sara Perchè ti Amo to contemporary Italian music. With stories of a generation of labor migrants who left their homeland and of their children and grandchildren who grew up between two worlds. The musical is inspired by testimonies and memories from the Italian community in Limburg with a nod to the complex, contemporary society. After all, behind the great history of the mines lie small, human stories. The performance is a co-production of What’s Next Media, CC Muze Heusden-Zolder, Cultuurhuis Casino Houthalen-Helchteren, JoyFul Celebration, ECRU, and the Sint-Franciscuscollege. Italian Afterparty with Davy Valerio Na the musical in the theater, the party continues in the ballroom with an atmospheric Italian music evening, brought live by Davy Valerio. Warme Italiaanse sounds ensure an evening full of ambiance. With an excellent glass of wine, an unforgettable atmosphere, and the most beautiful Italian songs, this music evening forms the perfect conclusion to a festive celebration of ‘80 years of Italian migration’.
