The Kids? That’s half a century of Belgian punk fury: fast, fierce and still kicking against the system! The Kids celebrate half a century of punk in their ‘Bloody Belgium’! Since 1976, the Antwerp band around Ludo Mariman has been kicking the Belgian music landscape into having a conscience with straightforward punk. Their self-titled debut ‘The Kids’ (1978) is an unadulterated piece of punk violence with which they hit Belgium full in the face at the time. With songs like ‘Fascist Cops’, ‘Bloody Belgium’, ‘No Monarchy’ and ‘There Will Be No Next Time’, they injected the landscape with anti-establishment noise that would linger for a long time. Thus, the band built a rock-solid live reputation and the foursome shared the stage over the years with, among others, Iggy Pop, Sex Pistols, Patti Smith, Buzzcocks and New York Dolls. Even today, the DNA of The Kids still stands: fierce, fast, and without pretension. Bloody Belgium! No monarchy! Here are The Kids!
