Following the successful philosophical talk-comedy tsjik tsjak Wham, Thomas Claessens and Hendrik Kegels join forces once again. This time they take one of Shakespeare's most underrated works under the magnifying glass: The Comedy of Errors. In Thomas and Hendrik's version, four doppelgangers meet at the start of the performance. They wear the same coat, the same sneakers and socks... even the same mustache! They look so much alike that they themselves have trouble telling each other apart.\nWhat begins as a small confusion quickly develops into a tangle of misunderstandings. In an effort to emphasize their differences, four doppelgangers lose themselves in an increasingly absurd logic. They start playing each other to make clear how different they are, they put on each other's identical clothes, but they become ever more deeply entangled in a labyrinth of mistaken identities. Until they not only no longer know who is who, but even no longer know who they themselves are.\nWhat if we are not as special as we like to believe? What if you can be replaced by someone who thinks they are a better version of you? Hendrik and Thomas figure out why we feel that continuous urge to distinguish ourselves so much from each other, why we are so afraid of not being unique. The original Shakespeare remains present in the background – or does fiction catch up with reality and the players themselves? A Comedy of Errors promises to be an evening full of humor, confusion, and misunderstandings. FC De Kampioenen, but in verse.
