Imago Dei is a performance exploring the fragile boundary between human and machine. On stage, a performer and a humanoid robot come face to face in a silent, charged encounter. If humans were created in God’s image, what is the implication of us creating beings in our own image? When a machine seems to have feelings, looks at us and responds, what do we see? Without providing any answers, Imago Dei opens up a space for reflection on empathy, creation and the sacred in an age of artificial life. Robin Jonsson is a choreographer, producer and sound artist with extensive experience in integrating digital technologies into dance. His expertise spans robotics, virtual reality and artificial intelligence, which he uses to create innovative choreographic experiences. Since 2006, Robin has been developing and touring his dance productions throughout Europe and beyond.
