Light Moves Christmas concert by Tourdion choir conducted by Jolien Vandevelde

LIGHT MOVES – Christmas concert of Tourdion Koor Op Saturday December 19 at 8 PM sounds in the Grote Aula Pieter De Somer the annual Christmas concert of Tourdion, under the direction of Jolien Vandevelde together with the chamber ensemble Piacevole. Central is a special first: the brand-new commissioned work LIGHT MOVES by Martin Valcke. An idiosyncratic Christmas story with surprising angles, in a modern compositional style full of rhythm — sometimes playful, sometimes dramatic — and interwoven with real chorales. Around this new work sounds music of Benjamin Britten, with parts from his Ceremony of Carols. In addition, we also bring music of Bob Chilcott, Howard Goodall and Michiel Verfaillie — composers who have gradually also become ours and your favorites. LIGHT MOVES thus becomes more than a concert. It is our message for Christmas: Light that appeals to us. Hope that touches us And a world that keeps moving. Come listen, experience and make the light move with us.
