Just like with our previous folk film Adam & Eva, PARELKERKE again brings together a strong ensemble cast, supplemented with authentic local talents from the Vlaamse Ardennen. That mix of familiar faces and region-bound character heads gives the film its unique, credible atmosphere. The story: When someone suddenly disappears in an idyllic village in the Vlaamse Ardennen, it first seems like a mystery that will be solved quickly. But inspectors Silke and Walter soon discover that behind the quiet facades of Parelkerke lies a web of secrets, gossip, and hidden motives. As the tension rises, a motley crew of village figures passes by who all have something to hide. PARELKERKE is a sparkling murder mystery comedy that combines the spirit of classic whodunits like Knives Out with the warm, folk charm of Van Vlees and Bloed and a touch of absurd tension in the atmosphere of Fargo.
