In Falstaff we follow five generations of female players who together form a theater company that performs an adaptation of Shakespeares The merry wives of Windsor. On and off stage, they are forced to fight the iconic character Falstaff. But, while they perform his grotesque plan to seduce two women at the same time, reality breaks through into the play time and again. In the wings, confusion lingers and conflicts arise. Gradually, the boundaries between fiction and reality blur. The well-known recipe of DESCHONECOMPANIE? Reinventing an iconic piece in a game with humor, playful confusion, and sharp insights. We already saw that in their earlier passages in CCHA: Rigoletto (2022), The Barber (2024), and Fledermaus forever (2024).
