Sab'r + Quelle Aurore Theatre

Sab'r + Quelle Aurore

Fri, 20 Nov 2026 · 20:00
Eden - Centre culturel de Charleroi, Charleroi
Endurance, mastery, and resistance form the framework of this evening, resolutely girl power, composed of an introspective solo and a burlesque duo. Reconnecting with her Arab and Amazigh roots which she intertwines with krump, her discipline of choice, Siham Ennajjary composes with Sab’r a first solo based under the sign of femininity. For their part, Soa Ratsifandrihana and Bonnie Banane advance together, in an obstinate quest for a horizon despite everything that obscures it. Performed in complicity, by Lÿdie LaPëstE and Bonnie Banane, their musical and danced tandem deploys the virtuoso simplicity of a diverted forced march. A shot of freedom. Sab’r, in Arabic, is patience. In the same way that the meaning of the term has expanded to include perseverance, the young dancer unfolds it, stretches it, explores its limits, horizons, and corners. Liégeoise of Moroccan origin, "fighter" recognized in the field of street dances, founder among others of the collective Girl Zone Belgium, Siham Ennajjary combines in this first creation the Berber influences that found her and her specialty, the krump. A discipline as spiritual as it is physical, she reminds us. A lesson in honesty even. Tension, endurance, and mastery form the framework of Sab’r, a resistant and flexible framework, where the heart can nestle and from where it can offer itself. Each has her tempo, dosing with acuity the proportions of energy and nonchalance. Dans Quelle Aurore, fruit of a commission from the SACD France and the Festival d’Avignon, the artists adopt the rhythm and adapt the codes of burlesque to resist the ambient cynicism. Newly associated artist at Charleroi danse, Soa Ratsifandrihana cultivates the groove – a key ingredient of her art – in a practice that embraces the present as much as the legacies. Invention and transmission irrigate her dance, never stingy with fantasy. Soa Ratsifandrihana entrusted her role in Quelle Aurore to the dancer, performer, columnist, and mistress of ceremony Lÿdie LaPëste. Singer-songwriter, but also actress, Bonnie Banane takes manifest pleasure in blurring the tracks. Inclined to oxymorons, prompt to thwart traps as much as to assume them, the two performers – equipped with phones, remote control, and walking mats – forge, at the fire of paradoxes, a hybrid and free ode to the sensible.
