The 77-year-old Tereza, born and raised in an industrial city on the edge of the Amazon, suddenly receives the order to leave her house. The state forces her to move to a so-called ‘senior colony’, a place where the elderly are supposed to ‘enjoy’ their last years, so that the younger generation can focus fully on growth and productivity. Maar Tereza refuses to accept this inhumane measure. Instead of giving up her freedom, she starts a clandestine boat trip through the Amazon.
