Doodgraag. A theater performance about loving life and loving death
A war reporter has seen children die of hunger, has seen people shot dead, and has looked death in the eyes multiple times himself. But nothing hits him as deeply as his mother's resolute choice for euthanasia.
Doodgraag is a raw, intimate and lifelike conversation between a son and his mother about loving life and loving to die. About how close death really comes when it enters your own home. Sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes disarmingly witty, always unflinchingly honest.
The theater play is based on the book by Patrick Van Gompel, Memoires vol leven en dood (Pelckmans, 2026).
The book is for sale after the performance.
