Ten years ago, fate brought Jan Jaap van der Wal to Flanders: a place where life is wonderful, but where things also regularly go wonderfully wrong. And exactly that contrast he embraces with pleasure. In the meantime, he has been a 'Fleming in training' for ten years and is an indispensable part of Flemish theaters and television. The love between him and the audience is clearly mutual, and he celebrates that with his biggest show to date. With his characteristic mix of sharpness, relativization, and humor, he looks at life, politics, and everything in between. Because whether we stumble over world problems, budget deficits, or just a shrimp croquette at the seaside, in the end, we all go under. Why not with a big smile? Jan Jaap van der Wal has been on stage for almost thirty years and has also built an impressive career in Flanders. Since 2015, he has made several full-evening performances, including the acclaimed election conference Geen Stem. On television, we know him as a jury member of De Slimste Mens ter Wereld and as a presenter of De Ideale Wereld and Jan Jaap op Zondag.
