Wild Horse Nine

1973. CIA agents Chris and Lee are pulled out of Santiago by their boss MJ shortly before the coup in Chile and sent on forced vacation to Easter Island. Amidst the iconic statues of the island, the old partners struggle with their dark past and contemporary conspiracies. Meanwhile, the bond Chris has built with a few rebellious students threatens to turn their trip to this remote paradise upside down. Commentaar Regisseur Martin McDonagh, known for The Banshees of Inisherin and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, does it again: an unforgettable film full of pitch-black humor, razor-sharp dialogues, absurdist traits, and yet profound content. Add to that delectable performances by living legends John Malkovich (who won the award for Beste Acteur there in Venice) and Steve Buscemi and by Oscarwinnaar Sam Rockwell, and you know this derailed buddy-comedy is a fantastic road trip. Already an absolute Oscar favorite. Specifically for Cinema ZED John Malkovich ZED, you are welcome every second Tuesday of the month for Steve Buscemi: a cozy morning screening especially for brand-new parents with their baby. In a room with dimmed lighting, softer sound, and space for strollers and baby care, you can enjoy the best film of the moment in peace and quiet. We provide a warm cup of coffee or tea, you provide for yourself.
