Of love & fresh water

D’amour & d’eau fraîche is a photographic series created by Clair Bravo (1999, France) within seven rural queer communities in France. The project questions the notions of belonging, visibility, intimacy, and collective life in territories often associated with conservative or heteronormative imaginaries. These communities constitute spaces of resistance, solidarity, and collective invention. Here, photography contributes to the construction of common imaginaries, to the transmission of minority experiences, and to the invention of desirable futures. The texts that accompany the images were written by the people photographed, multiplying the points of view and sharing the authority of the narrative. Presented on silk, the photographs become objects whose lightness and mobility favor flexible circulation, outside of established frameworks. As part of BIP off.
